Warby Parker

So, I’m crushing. Really hard. No, not on a boy. Warby Parker glasses! They are absolutely adorable! I wear a pair of reading glasses and I love it. It has been proven by anyone that knows me that I am more focused when I wear my glasses. Well, over Christmas break I found out I needed a new prescription. This also means new glasses! While I still don’t have my new glasses, it’s ok. I’m probably going to need a new prescription soon anyways. (I swear the amount I spend on the computer doing homework is killing my eyes) My current glasses are Burberry and I love them, but I want to do something different and a little less expensive.

Then, I discovered Warby Parker through The College Prepster! They are perfect! They are mostly run through their online store, but there are shops in New York and San Francisco. So the way it works is you pick 5 pairs that they will ship you for free for home try-on. You have these glasses for 5 days and once you’re done, you just send them back-still completely free. Once you have decided on the pair that is best for you, just go online and place your order. The best part: the glasses are only $95 and when you buy a pair they give a pair to someone in need!

I don’t think my parents are ready to buy me new glasses yet, but I’m seriously considering ordering my 5 tonight so that I could have them picked out for the summer. If I had to pick my 5 right now this is how I would rank them.

I don’t think these would look very good on me but they look so fun!

Absolutely obsessed!

They also have a 1922 Collection right now that are “The Great Gatsby” inspired! If only I could rock those as well.

These are what I’m daydreaming about as I work on this presentation on McDonald’s. I’m so over it, but if you have any questions about MCD, I’m your girl!

This is one of the sayings for the 1922 Collection – very Gatsby

Too Blessed to be Stressed

I’ve changed the topic of this post several times this week. It was originally going to be about grace, but it has been quite the interesting week and this topic seems to be more appropriate.

I’ve never really understood the phrase “Too blessed to be stressed” until now. Between classes, babysitting, sorority stuff, getting ready for Old South this weekend, getting a very not so good test grade back, and a 15 page paper and presentation due this week, to say I’ve been overwhelmed would be an understatement. Normally all of this would stress me out (and maybe it is but staying up till 6 this morning is masking the stress), but this week I have been very zen.

Today is my grandfather’s birthday and as my brother and I surprised him for a birthday dinner tonight, it all began to make sense to me. Ever since Grandma passed away two weeks ago there have been a lot of things going through my mind. A lot of things that I would like to do differently. I’ve also started listening to a Country Hymns Pandora station. I know, sounds lame for a college student to admit this, but the inspiration that it provides while I’m studying is the best. Grandma always emphasized how blessed she was because of her faith and her family. The two most important things in anyones life. Without these, nothing will be satisfying.

Well tonight as I was driving away from talking to my brother in the parking lot of California Dreaming for about an hour I began to cry. This is normal for me (I just love my family so), but this was different. I was not sad, I was overwhelmed. I am so incredibly blessed.

I have my family, my faith, my health, and friends that provide the support I need at school. Even though by normal standards this week has been downright rotten, I have been in an amazing mood and it’s because this feeling of blessings. I have not stressed about getting my paper and presentation done. I have not worried about what will happen for my future. I know it will all work out. I know it will all be done according to God’s plan. And most importantly, I know that alongside with God I have my family that will always be here to support me.

Therefore, I’m too blessed to be stressed.

Friday Five: Spring Weekend Edition

Well today is the start of a much-needed Spring Weekend celebration at Wofford! It’s not the same as it has been in years past due to much unwanted change in tradition. Well that, and the fact that it’s raining today. So today’s Friday Five (which I promise is going to be a real thing) is dedicated to Spring Weekend and Jimmy Buffett themed!

1. Jimmy Buffett Pandora station: With a “5 o’clock Somewhere” themed Spring Weekend, this is naturally the most important. As I always emphasize, the music can set the tone for anything and without the perfect playlist even the best party can be a dud.

2. Spring Weekend Tank: Each sorority at Wofford creates tanks to wear all day Saturday, sans letters of course. This years tank is a lime green comfort color!

3. Essie’s E-Nuf is E-Nuf nail polish: My new favorite! It’s the perfect deep, rich coral color!

4. My friends: No Spring Weekend is complete without friends to celebrate with!

5. Painted Mini cooler: Helen painted them for Spring Break but it was so cold we never got to use them. Spring Weekend is the perfect time to bring it back out. Not to mention it’s monogrammed and Lilly print painted!
